Welcome to my personal page!
My name is Savhanna Moore, and I’m a proud graduate of Charlotte High School. I like artistic endeavors and anything that will help me learn more about the world. From anatomy to psychology, astronomy to geography, I really love learning. If I can implement what I know to help me create artistic projects, then I’m eager to find out as much about the world as I can.
That being said, I really love every kind of artistic pursuit, and I hope to make a career out of writing and illustrating someday. I feel that I have a true passion for it.
For as long as I've been able to dream, I've longed to become someone important. I want people to hear my name and think, “Wow, she does such great work”. Some people dedicate their lives to trying to feed the destitute, cure the ill, and aid the defenseless. While these are very noble, wonderful ways to make use of one’s life, I see them as solutions to the problems of a limited group of people. Unlike community services, art can be beneficial to anyone. People of any race or background, young people, old people, even people on opposing sides of a war can be emotionally affected by the same piece of art. I feel that the emotional and mental state of humanity is probably even more important than its physical state, which is why I put a lot of weight on the value of art to the human spirit. I want to be someone that gives life to the kind of art that changes people, and I want artistic skills to help progress this world toward a calmer, happier norm. If my work makes people smile, that means I’m making steps closer to my goal.
But I digress.
I am also a student in the Eaton Intermediate School District Career Preparation Center, working toward completing the Computer Graphics and 3D Animation course. I've learned a lot about what it’s like to work in this kind of field as well as developed a love for digital art beyond what I felt before. I’d considered going into graphic art for a long time, but never knew whether I had a real aptitude for it. I was even worried that I might get bored working at a computer desk every day! Thankfully, my fears were quickly quelled upon joining the EISD program, and rather than being scared away from graphic art, I've found that it’s just as enjoyable as traditional art, and there are a lot of things you can do with a computer that you can’t do with a pencil or paintbrush. My time-management skills have also developed further, as well as my ability to organize and plan out projects, and I feel that my focus and determination has improved a bit too.
I've come a long way from dabbling in MS Paint and fiddling with the computers in the school library during the time I volunteered there. Managing the books and students alongside the kind librarian helped me cultivate my affection for people, and my desire to entertain them has only strengthened since. Watching movies, playing games, and learning what I know now has always made me want to create things to affect and entertain people. I might have a desire to be noticed due to being one of four siblings almost equal in age, maybe due to the bullying I experienced in school, or even due to my somewhat ambiguous sexuality, but I don’t feel that things like that matter very much. Everything that's happened in my life has shaped me to be who I am today. The most my past is worth now is as an experience reference and a conversation piece. I learn from both my mistakes and my successes and I keep moving cheerfully forward.
Being a part of EISD has helped me figure out what kind of specific field I want to go into and the kinds of skills I need to know to help me get there. However, if I am unable to be a graphic artist or illustrator, or even a writer, then I probably won’t divert my pursuits toward some other field. To me, art is not just a career, it’s a part of me. I've loved art since I was barely walking, since my mother showed me how to hold a crayon, and I’ll never stop loving or creating even if I am deterred. If I put my heart into creating quality products, then somehow, I’ll find a way to turn that into a living. Whether I find myself in a success-funded mansion by the sea or a dingy apartment in a windswept city, I’ll still be creating, because I really don’t need bountiful riches as much as I need art. As long as I’m making art, I’ll be able to get by.
As long as I’m making art, I’ll always be happy.
